Guildford, a borough and market - town with three parishes--Guildford Holy Trinity, St Nicholas and Guildford St Mary's, having separate jurisdiction, and the head of a union, locally in the First division of the hundred of Woking, W. division of Surrey, 30 miles (S. W.) from London. There are places of worship for Baptists, the Society of Friends, Independents, and Wesleyans. [1]
