British Colonization (1922-1946)[edit | edit source]

After World War Two, as part of the French and British partitioning of the Arabian Peninsula, the Emirate of Transjordan became a British protectorate. The emirate became fully independent in 1946 and was renamed The Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan.[1]
