Civil registers of Barbados births begin in 1890, marriages in 1930, and deaths in 1925.[1] Before that time, this was an ecclesiastical responsibility, and records survive back to the 1600s, see Barbados Church Records.
Vital records were sometimes recorded in newspapers, both at home and abroad, see Barbados Newspapers.
