:The Society encourages and advances the education of the public in the knowledge of local history, particularly as regards Colinton and districts within its historical parish.

:Currie District History Society was formed by a number of people interested in Currie and district, to provide a focal point for those with a similar interest in the district around us, and as an organisation where information can be gathered, exchanged, stored, and discussed in an atmosphere of friendly co-operation.

:Dalkeith History Society’s objectives are to encourage an interest in the history of Dalkeith, through talks, exhibitions, etc., and to carry out research into Dalkeith’s past.

:While the story of Leith is in part the story of Kings and Queens, Merchants and Mariners, it is more the story of the ‘ordinary’ people who lived in Leith and worked in its docks and industries - often in conditions that we would regard as intolerable nowadays.  The history of Leith has something to offer both to people interested in Leith itself and those who are interested in social, maritime, industrial, and transport history.

:We exist to promote the study of the history of the Morningside area of Edinburgh, Scotland. We were founded in 1982.  Our ultimate aim is to provide a permanent locus for the preservation and study of information about the heritage of the area of Morningside.

:The group seeks to advance the knowledge and history of Newhaven and the surrounding area.

:The Club is Edinburgh's local history society, concerned with all aspects of the city's history and development.  For one hundred years we have encouraged interest in Edinburgh's history through lectures and visits.
