Children's Area Discovery Experience
Our Children's Area has been set apart as a place for parents and children to spend time together playing games, Lego building, watching special videos, etc. It is also used for special activities and presentations.
(Parents are encouraged to accompany their children in this area.)
Family History Activity Days
Our Family History Activity Days are open to Primaries, Home Schooling groups, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other groups of children ages 8-11 years old.
Activity Days come in two parts:
PART 1
For children ages 8-11 years old that are new to Family History. The activities include: Introduction to Family History using the My Family Booklet, Recording Studio, and Discovery Boards. For best experience a FamilySearch account is recommended. Part 1 Activity Days are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM and Friday from 2:30 to 3:30 PM. Maximum number of children is 16.
PART 2
For children ages 8-11 years old. This is a continuation of Part 1 and for those children with some experience in Family History. The activities include: Entering Information into their FamilySearch account from the My Family Booklet. Each child will need a User Name and Password for their own account (see below for instructions on creating FamilySearch accounts for children). Family Fun & Games in Family History Websites will be explored. Part 2 Activity Days are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Maximum number of children is 16.
