43rd Infantry Regiment was organized at Mobile, Alabama, in May, 1862, and immediately moved to Tennessee. The men were recruited in the counties of Marengo, Greene, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Jefferson, and Mobile. It surrendered with 15 officers and 113 men.[1]
