Brief History[edit | edit source]

28th Infantry Regiment, formed at Shelby Springs, Alabama, in March, 1862, contained men from Perry, Blount, Marshall, Jefferson, Walker, and Dallas counties. Very few surrendered in April, 1865.[1]
