Layton FamilySearch Center Children's Area

Children's Area Discovery Experience

Our Children's Area has been set apart as a place for parents and children to spend time together playing games, Lego building, watching special videos, etc. It is also used for special activities and presentations. (Parents are encouraged to accompany their children in this area.)

Family History Activity Days

Our Family History Activity Days are open to Primaries, Home Schooling groups, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other groups of children ages 8-11 years old.

Activity Days come in two parts:

PART 1
For children ages 8-11 years old that are new to Family History. The activities include: Introduction to Family History using the My Family Booklet, Recording Studio, and Discovery Boards. For best experience we recommend that each child have a FamilySearch.com account prior to your visit (see link below for information on getting a child their own FamilySearch.com account).

PART 2

For children ages 8-11 years old that have some experience in Family History. Part 2 activities include: Exploring the basics of FamilySearch and entering information into FamilySearch from the My Family Booklet. Family Fun & Games in Family History websites will be explored. NOTE: Each child will need a FamilySearch.com account username and password prior to your visit (see link below for information on getting a child their own FamilySearch.com account).

Activity Days are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 PM and 5:00 to 6:00 PM and Friday from 2:30 to 3:30 PM and 3:30 to 4:30 PM. Maximum number of children is 16. NOTE: In the COMMENTS section please indicate whether your request is for Part 1 or Part 2 and specify the number of children attending.
