Parish History

MANNINGFORD-ABBOTTS, a parish, in the union of Pewsey, hundred of Swanborough, Everley and Pewsey, and N. divisions of Wiltshire, 1¾ mile (W. S. W.). This parish, which belonged to the abbey of Llanthony, and subsequently, by grant from the crown, formed part of the large possessions of the Protector, the Duke of Somerset.[1]
