These records contain lists of landholders and families, native and European colonial, under Dutch jurisdiction. These records cover 1742 to 1771. Contents usually contain District, division, village, full name of family head, age, wife’s name, children’s names, names of collateral relatives, age, caste, and occupation. They are found at the Sri Lanka National Archives, Colombo. Only 15% of the population actually had land.[1]
