The county recorders' offices have voting registers kept since the 1870s. These are sometimes called “Great Registers” and include residence, naturalization, and place of origin. The Family History Library has copies from some counties, such as 41 microfilms from Maricopa County from 1876 to 1932.

Most voter records were kept on the county level (for New England states this should be town level). To see what FamilySearch has for your county (town) of research follow these steps:

  • Go to the FamilySearch Catalog and in the place field type in Arizona
  • Go to United States, Arizona
  • Once there, click on "Places within United States, Arizona"
  • Select the county that contains your town of interest
  • If FamilySearch has voter records for your county, they will be under "Voting Registers"
