Feet of Fines[edit | edit source]

During the medieval period, archival copies of agreements between two parties concerning land lawsuits were known as feet of fines.[1]

Many of these old records have been abstracted:

Hardy, W.J. and W. Page. A Calendar to the Feet of Fines for London & Middlesex. Vol. I: Richard I to Richard III. London: Hardy & Page, 1892. Digital version at Family History Archives.
