Information[edit | edit source]
Israel is located in the Middle East bounded on the north by Lebanon, on the east by Syria and Jordan, on the south by the Red Sea, Egypt and the Gaza Strip (Palestine), and on the west by the Mediterranean Sea. Also within its borders is the disputed territory of the West Bank (Palestine) which is administered partly by Israel and partly by the Palestinian Authority. Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948.
Hebrew is the official language of Israel, with Arabic, Russian, and French also being common spoken languages.
