Lower Edmonton

Parish History[edit | edit source]

EDMONTON (All Saints), a parish, and the head of a union, in the hundred of Edmonton, county of Middlesex, 7 miles N from London. There are places of worship for Baptists, the Society of Friends, Independents and Wesleyans.^[1]

Lower Edmonton St Mary, a district church and chapel of ease, was created by the year 1884 and lies within the civil boundaries of All Saints Edmonton.

The Church of England (Anglican) became the official state religion in 1534, with the reigning monarch as its Supreme Governor.
