GUILDFORD, a borough and market town, having separate jurisdiction, and the head of a union, locally in the First division of the hundred of Woking, W. division of Surrey, 30 miles (S. W.) from London. The borough comprises the parish of the Holy Trinity. There are places of worship for Baptists, the Society of Friends, Independents, and Wesleyans.[1]
