Before the Great Fire (1666)[edit | edit source]
A very useful guide for finding London property records predating the Great Fire is available online:

Feet of Fines (1195-1569)[edit | edit source]
During the medieval period, archival copies of agreements between two parties concerning land lawsuits were known as feet of fines.[1]
Many of these old records have been published and are available online:[2]

Land Tax Assessments Books (1692-1900)[edit | edit source]
These records were kept by the Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace. They are available on microfilm at the Family History Library: FHL Film 1068164 (1st of 161 films) and have been digitised and indexed by Ancestry (£) through 1932.
