TAVISTOCK (St. Evstachius), a borough, market-town, and parish, and the head of a union, in the hundred of Tavistock, Tavistock and S. divisions of the county of Devon, 33 miles (W. by S.) from Exeter. There are places of worship for the Society of Friends, Independents, Wesleyans, and Unitarians. [1]
