Research use: Useful as a supplement to civil and church records. Marriage contracts and wills often show several generations.
Record type: Marriages, deaths, property sales and transfer, inventories, etc.
Time period: 1897 to present.
Contents: Wills, marriage contracts, leases, sales, inventories, etc., containing names, dates, relationships and other vital information.
Location: National Archives in Antananarivo, provincial archives.
Population coverage: Approximately 30%.
Reliability: Good.[1]
