HOXTON (Christ Church), a district parish and Chapel of Ease. This place, originally a hamlet in the parish of St. Leonard, Shoreditch, having become an extensive and populous district, was constituted a parish by act of parliament in 1841. There are places of worship for Independents, Wesleyans, and Methodists of the New Connexion.[1] Christ Church Hoxton was created as a chapel of ease in the year 1841, it lay within the civil parish boundaries of St Leonard Shoreditch.
