IDMISTON (All Saints), a parish, in the union of Amesbury, hundred of Alderbury, Salisbury and Amesbury, and S. divisions of Wilts, 4 miles (S. E. by E.) from Amesbury. The Wesleyans have a place of worship. [1]



IDMISTON, a tything and a parish in Amesbury district, Wiltshire. The tything lies on the Bourne branch or the river Avon, and on the London, Yeovil, and Exeter railway, near Porton railway station, 4 miles SE of Amesbury, and 5¾ NE by N of Salisbury.[2]  Porton is a chapelry.
