Record Description

This collection contains newspaper clippings from the Victoria Daily Times newspaper that have been pasted onto cards and arranged chronologically from 1901 to 1939. The Victoria Times newspaper has also been  named the Victoria Daily Times and the Victoria Weekly Times.

• Name, age, sex, and residence of the deceased
• Date of death
• Profession (if known)
• Date of birth
• Cause of death
• Name of physician
• Name and residence of informant
• Religious affiliation
• Registration district name or number
• Date and number of registration
• Marital status and parents’ names and birthplaces are included in later registrations

How to Use the Record

To search the collection you will need to follow this series of links:

Look at the images one by one comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.

To use this collection you need to know the following information:

• Ancestors year of birth, marriage, and death
• Place of death
• Residence at the time of the newspaper clipping

If you can't find your ancestor:

• Try searching for their nicknames or alternative names
• Search the censuses for the residence of your ancestor
