Description

The purpose of this task is to list the link to the FamilySearch Center(s) wiki page for FHCs located in the county (or closest to the county), and to make sure the address and phone number is listed on the FHC page.

Instructions:

Please cite at least one source for each item you add. See Albany County for examples. See also

1. Go to the FHC directory and type in the postal code for your county seat (zipcode found in Handybook). The orange person in the green box shows where the zipcode is. The orange trees on the map show nearby FHCs. If there are no orange trees zoom out on the map until you see some. Determine the closest to, or main FHC for the county seat. Click on the orange tree to learn the name of the town of the FHC. If the nearest FHC is outside New York contact David Dilts. If the nearest FHC is in New York, note the town where it is.

2. Add the following template under the heading of FamilySearch Centers:

{{NYfhc|Plattsburgh}}
where you replace the word Plattsburgh with the name of the closest or main town for your county and Save the Wiki page.

3. Click the link to the closest/main FamilySearch Center town. Check the wiki to see if a FHC page has been populated for that FHC. If no information is listed on the FHC wiki page, add ONLY the address and phone number on the FHC wiki page. (the FHC people are supposed to add the other information).
