Add coverage table links to any applicable Historical Records collections Wiki page.

Instructions[edit | edit source]
- Note: All historical Records articles are protected to keep users from editing them. If you would like to do this project, message Danielle in Yammer and she will give you the appropriate rights to edit these pages.
Step One - Sign Up[edit | edit source]
- Go to the task list and sign your name next to a Historical Records Wiki page.
- Click on the link to open the Wiki page.
- There are two ways to add a link to a Historical Records Collections Wiki page. Choose the one that applies to the Wiki page you just signed up for.
Part A - Individual Coverage Table Wiki Page[edit | edit source]
- If the Wiki page you are working on has the word, "Coverage Table" in the title of the page, follow these instructions. If it does not, go to Part B.
Step One - Open the HR Collection Wiki Page[edit | edit source]
- On the Wiki page, open the Historical Records Collection page by going to the box at the top of the page and click on the link while holding the ctrl button. This will open the main Wiki page for the HR collection in a new tab.
Step Two - Click on Edit Source[edit | edit source]
- On the page in the new tab (Historical Records Collection), click on Edit source at the top of the page.
Step Three - Check for Wikitext Code[edit | edit source]
- Check the infobox to see if it has the following code already on the page.
- If the code is there, go to Step Four below.
- If it's not, copy the following wikitext code and add it just above RW_URL_01 in the infobox. It should look like the image above.

Step Four - Copy the Wikitext[edit | edit source]
- Copy the following wikitext code:

Step Five - Find Correct Line[edit | edit source]
- If necessary, use ctrl + F to locate the code below to get to the correct line.

Step Six - Paste Wikitext[edit | edit source]
- Paste the wikitext you copied in Step Four after the = on the coverage table line.
Step Seven - Copy the Title of Wiki Article[edit | edit source]
- Go back to the first tab to the Wiki page from the task list. Copy the title of the article.
Step Eight - Paste the Title[edit | edit source]
- After you copy the coverage table Wiki page title, go back to the Historical Records Collection tab and replace the phrase TITLE OF COVERAGE TABLE WIKI PAGE in the wikitext with the article title.
Step Nine - Save the Page[edit | edit source]
- Enter in the following in the summary field:
Added Coverage Table link - project
- Click Save Changes.
- Review the link to make sure it looks good and the link works.
Step Ten - Go back to the Task List[edit | edit source]
- Go to the Task List and add the date next to your name.
- Sign up for a new historical records collection page to work on: Task List.

Part B - Table on HR Collection Wiki Page[edit | edit source]
- If the Wiki page you are working on is a Historical Records Collection Wiki page (does not have "Coverage Table" in the title), you will add a link to the infobox.
Step One - Review Table of Contents[edit | edit source]
- Review the Table of Contents on the page and find the word, Coverage Table.
Step Two - Confirm the Coverage Table Link[edit | edit source]
- Click on the word, Coverage Table to take you down to that part of the page and confirm there is an coverage table listed. If there is one, continue with Step Three. if there is not, make a note on the task list and go to the next Wiki page listed.
Step Three - Click on Edit Source[edit | edit source]
- At the top of the Wiki page, click on Edit source to edit the whole page.
Step Four - Check for Wikitext Code[edit | edit source]
- Check the infobox to see if it has the following code already on the page.
- If the code is there, go to Step Five below.
- If it's not, copy the following wikitext code and add it just above RW_URL_01 in the infobox. It should look like the image above.

- Copy and paste the following wikitext after the = .

Step Seven - Save the Page[edit | edit source]
- Enter in the following in the summary field:

- Review the link to make sure it looks good and the link works.
Step Eight - Go back to the Task List[edit | edit source]
- Go to the Task List and add the date next to your name.
- Sign up for a new historical records collection Wiki page to work on: Task List.
