Purpose[edit | edit source]

  • Add the Computer Aided Indexing template to Historical Records articles for collections that are/will be using Artificial Intelligence to create the indexes.

Instructions[edit | edit source]

  • Note: All historical Records articles are protected to keep users from editing them. If you would like to do this project, message Danielle in Yammer and she will give you the appropriate rights to edit these pages.

Step One - Sign Up[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the task list and sign your name next to a Historical Records Wiki page.



  • Click on the link listed in column D, Link to Wiki Page. It will make a search of the Wiki and give results. You should see the Historical Records article title at the top of the list that will match the title on the spreadsheet. Click on the correct link to open the Historical Records Collection Wiki page.

Step Two - Find Header "Index and Image Visibility"[edit | edit source]

  • Near the top of the page, find the header, Index and Image Visibility.

Step Three - Click Edit Source for "Index and Image Visibility"[edit | edit source]

  • Click on edit source by the header, Index and Image Visibility. It should be the 2nd heading at the top on the Wiki page.

Step Four - Copy Wikitext Code[edit | edit source]

  • Copy the following wikitext code.

Step Five - Paste ABOVE the Header[edit | edit source]

  • Paste the code above the header, Index and Image Visibility.

Step Six - Preview the Page[edit | edit source]

  • Click Show Preview to make sure it looks good and the link works.

  • Enter in the following in the summary:
Added CAI template - project


  • Click Save Changes.


Step Seven - Go back to the Task List[edit | edit source]

  • Go to the Task List and add the date next to your name.


  • Sign up for a new historical records collection page to work on: Task List.
