Task List

Instructions[edit | edit source]

1. Open the Task List, and add your name to the "Name" column for the parishes you want to sign up for.

2. Locate the "Wiki Page" column in the task list. The locations in this column are listed backwards. Instead of listing jurisdictions from smallest to largest like normal Wiki pages, these are listed from largest to smallest. You will be searching the Wiki for the correct parish page.

3. Search the Wiki for the parish.

  • Example: The name "England, Bedfordshire, Oakley" in column C of the task list would be the FS Wiki page titled "Oakley, Bedfordshire, England Genealogy".
  • NOTE: If there is not a wiki page that matches the name of wiki page on your task list, put no wiki page in the "Notes" column of the task list and move on to the next parish.

4. On the England parish page you are working on, click the edit source button next to the Resources heading.

5. Scroll down to the last line in the section Find Neighboring Parishes and press enter.

6. Copy and paste the following code:

=== Cemeteries ===

7. Locate the code in the "Code" column of the task list for your parish (column G).

  • NOTE: Make sure you are looking at the correct code for the correct parish. There are many lines of code in the task list and it can be easy to mix up which line of code corresponds to which parish.

8. Copy the code in the Code column of the task list for the row you signed up for.

  • NOTE: Make sure the collection is capitalized since it is the title of the collection.

9. Paste the code directly underneath the new Cemeteries heading you added in step 6.

10. Click Show preview to double check that the link you added looks good and doesn't have anything weird about it.

  • If there is something off with the link code, do not save the page. Send Virginia a Yammer or an email.

11. Copy the following statement and paste it into the Summary of your edit:

Project adding England Cemetery Catalog links

12. Click "Save page", add the date completed to the "Date" column and continue on to the next parish in the task list.

13. Here are two examples of what the pages should look like:

Oakley, Bedfordshire
Odell, Bedfordshire
