The language spoken by the majority of Uzbekistan is Uzbek. It is the official language of the government. [1] [2]

Other native languages spoken in Uzbekistan include:

  • Turkic languages - Uzbek is included
  • Tajik - widespread throughout Uzbekistan (a variety of Persian)
  • Russian - the language most used in public life
