Research in person by appointment only, do not visit without calling or emailing first. The Research Center located in the Rio Grande Depot is closed due to damage from 2020 earthquake, there is no public access to the building and no records are stored there.
The Utah State Archives provides many useful documents ranging back to 1850 for research. These records include vital records, military records, court records, land records, legislative bills, mining claims, and incorporation records. Searchable inventories and name index provide direct access, while research guides by subject are provided to assist you with your research at: http://archives.utah.gov/research/. Some of these records have been digitized for ease of research and can are located at: http://archives.utah.gov/digital/
Please note that many of the digitized records and name indexes have associated images that are free to view, which also provide additional information that can be utilized in genealogical research.
