Ton was first mentioned as Tunno in a document relating to the possessions of the monastery of the canons regular of San Michele all'Adige, dating back to 1174.
Major events:
- The Guerra Rustica (Peasants' War) in 1525, where the peasants of Ton participated in the uprising against the Austrian authorities.
- The construction of the Forte Rocchetta in the 19th century by the Austrian military, although it was never involved in any major battles.
- The destruction of the Forte Rocchetta by an accidental explosion in the early 20th century.
- The creation of the Biotopo La Rocchetta, a natural reserve, in 1992.
- The construction of the Consorzio Ortofrutticolo Bassa Anaunia (COBA) warehouse in Raut in the 20th century.
- The abandonment of the Dalle Case brick factory in Ceramica in the 20th century. [1]
