History[edit | edit source]

Tenna was "certainly a Roman place" located on the Altinum-Tridentum road. Roman coins found there span the period from Emperor Augustus to Hadrian, indicating Roman presence during that time. The discovery of a milestone further supports this. So, while a precise founding date isn't given, the Roman era is when its existence is confirmed.

Major events:

  • Roman Era: Tenna existed as a Roman settlement on the Altinum-Tridentum road. Roman coins and a milestone indicate their presence.
  • 1878: Discovery of a Roman milestone near the church.
  • Post-WWII: Expansion of the town, significantly altering the landscape.[1]
