Summit Plantation, Penobscot County, Maine Genealogy

Summit is an extinct plantation, now an unorganized territory (township) in the East Central Penobscot townships of Penobscot County, Maine. Summit Plantation was first organized as Number 1 North Division Plantation from T1 ND (also known as Deanfield) about 1840. In 1892 Summit Plantation was organized as a successor plantation; and reorganized in 1895. By 1901 Summit Plantation was being taxed as "wildlands," and since then has become unorganized territory.[1] [2]
