Colonial Wars, 1607 to 1763: Difference between revisions

The "Index of Ancestors and Roll of Members of the Society of Colonial Wars" ([http://books.google.com/books?id=PygwAAAAYAAJ Google Books]) ({{FHL|1036804|disp=FHL 1036804 item 4}}) was published in 1922. The book is divided into three parts. Part I contains an alphabetical list of Colonial Wars ancestors with birth and death dates, war in which they served, rank, and a list of members who descended from that person as of about 1921. Part II contains a list of members with their General Society Number, reference to the page where they are listed as a descendant, and state membership. Part III contains an "Honor Roll", or list, of members that served during World War I. The "Honor Roll" has its own index.

The state societies often published lists of their members which usually contain the members names and a lineage showing their connection to a colonial ancestor. A list of ancestors and a description of their service is also usually included.
