Previous to this time it was neccesary to use microfilmed indexes, coorespond with the General Register Office or hire a researcher at the General Register Office. There was also the option of using the microfilm collection of FamilySearch which has filmed records from 1855 to 1875. Now at <u>ScotlandPeoples</u> website one can search the indexes, obtain a digital copy of the record within minutes for a small fee. | |||
