7th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry (Union): Difference between revisions

The 7th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry was organized at large and mustered in at Paris, Kentucky, August 16, 1862. The regiment had duty at Macon until June and at Nashville, Tennessee until July. Men often enlisted in a company recruited in the counties where they lived though not always. After many battles, companies might be combined because so many men were killed or wounded. However if you are unsure which company your ancestor was in, try the company recruited in his county first.  

*Company B - Many men mustered in from, Paris, [[Bourbon County, Kentucky|Bourbon Count]], and Frankfort, [[Franklin County, Kentucky|Franklin County]]Kentucky.  

*Company C – Many men mustered in from Frankfort, [[Franklin County, Kentucky|Franklin County]] and Louisville, [[Jefferson County, Kentucky|Jefferson County]],Kentucky.<br>  

*Company E - Many men mustered in from Paris, [[Bourbon County, Kentucky|Bourbon County]] and Covington, [[Kenton County, Kentucky|Kenton County]], Kentucky.<br>
