{{Wikipedia|Pleasant View, Utah}} Nestled at the base of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Lomond_Mountain_%28Utah%29 Mount Ben Lomond] in northern [[Weber County, Utah Genealogy|Weber County]], for many years Pleasant View was a considered part of [[North Ogden, Utah|North Ogden]]. Located just west of [[North Ogden, Utah|North Ogden]] it has been known under several different names over years such as: the West End, the West District, Stringtown, Hot Springs, out West and finally became known as Pleasant View. <ref> [http://www.pleasantviewcity.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=120&amp;Itemid=118 Pleasant View City History] </ref> The pioneers found a large patch of beautiful tall straight trees that were suitable for log cabins. They called this area "Pole Patch". A stage coach station was in operation from 1860-1800 it served the [http://www.linecamp.com/museums/americanwest/western_clubs/holladay_overland_mail_express_company/holladay_overland_mail_express_company.html Ben Holladay's Overland Lines] which was purchased by [https://www.wellsfargo.com/about/history/stagecoach/overland Wells-Fargo]. <ref> [http://history.utah.gov/apps/markers/detailed_results.php?markerid=1815 Pleasant View Markers] </ref> Meals were served, horses fed and repairs made at this stage coach station. <br> The [http://www.uteindian.com/ute_tribal.htm Ute Indians] would make a yearly travel stop in the area, dotting the mountain side with their [http://www.texasbeyondhistory.net/kids/houses/wickiups.html wickiups]. The Ute tribe of Indians, led by their chieftain Tobe, used the Hot Springs for medicinal purposes. A Hot Springs resort, that included a 40 room hotel, hot spring bathing and a dance hall once received visitors in the northwestern corner of Pleasant View. <ref> [http://www.sangres.com/utah/places/weber/pleasant-view.htm Sangres.com Pleasant View] </ref> Settled in 1851, Pleasant View was incorporated in 1945.
