Tuesday, September 19th at 10:30 am, Dennis Ransom will be teaching “England’s BMD & Christening Records.” Dennis, from an early age, has had a great interest in Temple and Family History Work. He has organized Family Reunions and has done a lot of research in British and Early American Records. He has served as a Family Search Center consultant for over 10 years. Do you need help searching for relatives in England? Dennis will show you ways to find and search the BMD (birth, marriage, and death records), and the christening records in England.  
Tuesday, October 10th at 10:30 am, Rose Nyman will be teaching “Utah Digital Newspapers, Newspaper.com, and Newspaper Archive.” Rose is a talented artist and photographer with a love of Family History. Come and learn how newspapers can enhance and enrich your family’s story and help you find ancestors, too. Newspapers are a great source that will help you find details and family members you might not otherwise find.


Wednesday, October 4th at 1:00 pm, Virginia Temple will be teaching “PART 1: RootsMagic”. RootsMagic is a liaison between FamilySearch and Ancestry. This class is taught in two sessions. Part 2 will be taught the following Wednesday, October 11th at 1:00 pm.

RootsMagic is a liaison between FamilySearch and Ancestry. Virginia serves in her Ward and at the FamilySearch Center, as a consultant. As a seasoned researcher and genealogist, she will show you how much RootsMagic can help you with your family history work.


Thursday, October 5th at 6 pm Kristy Bloomer will be teaching “Using FamilySearch Partner Sites”. Have you wondered about the partner sites that FamilySearch has and what information they have to help your research?  Kristy will teach you what Ancestry, My Heritage, Find My Past, Geneanet, and Filae have to help us in our research.  
Thursday, October 12th at 6 pm, Shaunese Luthy will be teaching “You Don’t Have to Wander Around the Cemetery to Find Someone.” This class will discuss how to find graves in cemeteries using the sexton record office and the cemetery maps. We will also discuss how to find the graves if there is not a sexton record office available.  Shaunese has her degree in Family History and Genealogy from Brigham Young University. She runs her own Genealogy business.  This is a great time of year to learn about cemeteries!


Thursday, October 5th at 7:30 pm Shelly Strand and Shaunese Luthy will be teaching “Researching Your Family” in the computer room. This is a hands-on class. The first part of the class you will learn about one type of record to use in your research. The second part of the class will be one on one help with what you need assistance with. This class is not zoomed.

This is a hands-on class. Shelly will share resources to assist you in your search for family records. Shelly just finished her bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Family History Research. This week,
we will focus on using FamilySearch’s Record Finder. Learn about this tool that directs you to
record types and collections that could have the information that answers your research question.
 
Saturday, October 14th at 10:30 am Shaunese Luthy will be teaching “How US and State Census Records Go Hand In Hand.” Census records give you valuable information about your family. Come and learn from Shaunese, a genealogist, how both types of census records have a lot of information we can glean to help us in our research.


Saturday, October 7th at 10:30 am Rose Nyman and Kristy Bloomer, will be teaching “Workshop: Talking Dead Relatives.”  Come and learn what great things My Heritage can do with your old photos. It will help you find fun ways to communicate with your grandchildren and get them excited in doing FamilySearch.  Learn how to improve your old faded pictures and how to have your pictures talk and tell their stories.
