:The building that houses the Cerro de las Campanas Museum was built in August 2003 inside the Cerro de las Campanas Park, in the city of Querétaro. In its first stage it was called “Cerro de las Campanas Site Museum”, later it was known as “Museum of the Magic of the Past” and to date it is called “Cerro de las Campanas Museum”. The Cerro de las Campanas Museum offers an overview of the history of the city declared a World Heritage Site in 1996 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

:It is located in the old Convent of San Francisco, which is one of the most significant viceregal buildings in Mexico, due to its important artistic value and the role it played as a center of evangelization and cultural promotion, for the territory of what currently It is the State of Querétaro.  The former convent is part of the historic center of the city, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational and Cultural Organization. This building had several construction stages, the first beginning in the 16th century. Its current appearance corresponds to the 18th century. In addition, as a museum, it opened its doors in 1936 and became part of the National Institute of Anthropology and History in 1939. Its rooms contain Persian collections through which the history of Querétaro and Mexico is told. The collections are made up of archaeological, ethnographic, colonial and contemporary pieces made up of ceramics, lithics, sculptures, paintings, furniture, clothing, weapons, means of transport, photographs, documents and furniture.
