:It is located in the old Convent of San Francisco, which is one of the most significant viceregal buildings in Mexico, due to its important artistic value and the role it played as a center of evangelization and cultural promotion, for the territory of what currently It is the State of Querétaro. The former convent is part of the historic center of the city, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational and Cultural Organization. This building had several construction stages, the first beginning in the 16th century. Its current appearance corresponds to the 18th century. In addition, as a museum, it opened its doors in 1936 and became part of the National Institute of Anthropology and History in 1939. Its rooms contain Persian collections through which the history of Querétaro and Mexico is told.
