Settling Bloomington
 
On April 10, 1864 Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn and three daughters, Charlotte Ann, Permelia and their nephew James Dunn , Mrs Merinda Campbell and her two Sons David and Warren. Left Providence, Utah to settle Bloomington in the Bear Lake Valley. Each family had two oxen and one wagon and a few herd of cattle. They travelled by way of Gentile Valley, past Fort Connor (Soda Spring) and up the Bear River to the crossing where they were among the very first to use the ferry raft that had been built shortly before their arrival by John Cozzens. They continued through Paris southward to become the first families to settle in the Bloomington area. They arrived on April 18th 1864
