British Indian Ocean Territory Civil Registration: Difference between revisions

British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT) is a [[England Genealogy|British colony]] in the Indian Ocean. It was formerly part of [[Mauritius Genealogy|Mauritius]]. In 1965, BIOT was split off for military purposes (the base at Diego Garcia). In 2018, the only inhabitants are about 3,000 US and British military personnel and associated contractors.
