Estonia Census: Difference between revisions

Those who officially changed their place of residence were registered in resettlement transcripts. Some of these documents are housed in the Historical Archives of Latvia. Resettlement records list the names of all peasants and their family members who proceeded to a different social layer (as a worker, tradesman, literary man, etc.) or to live in another province. The acquisition of education (with a diploma of a land surveyor, chemist, etc.), entering civil service, or becoming a townsman liberated a person from the class peasantry.<ref>Must, Aadu.
