There are a few genealogical societies that emphasize Brazilian research. Most of these societies publish helpful periodicals, transcripts, and compiled genealogies and may have special indexes, collections, and projects. The Brazilian College of Genealogy was founded in 1950 with the purpose of studying genealogical research in Brazil. While the college does not do research for others, it does provide resources to help others in their genealogical endeavors.
