The title number is integral to both OLIB and CDS. It would be very expensive for the department to abandon OLIB other than to move to its OCLC replacement product. It would be practically impossible. CDS is of our own authorship, so replacing title numbers there is a possibility, but as long as CDS is linked to OLIB, it is unlikely CDS will abandon title numbers.
