=== Using Genealogies and Ancestral File and Pedigree Resource File to create sources and correctly link individuals in FT to IGI record and clean up problems remaining from nFS. ===
=== Using Genealogies, Ancestral File, and Pedigree Resource File to find individuals lost when nFS was shut down and correctly link those individuals and their records in FT to the IGI record  ===

You must also understand that only extracted records in the IGI were used to create the IGI sources that were added to Family Tree. None of the patron submitted IGI records have been linked by adding sources. However, if you do a search in Genealogies and find an ID number there - if you search for that ID number in Family tree it will take you to the record in Family tree asssociated with that IGI entry. It is useful if you have an IGI entry and want to know where it is linked in Family Tree.

You can use identifiers in the other repositiories to locate the corresponding record in Family Tree if the record from the following were moved ---- Ancestral file (I believe all were moved), Pedigree Resource File ( only some were moved) and the IGI (all were moved). Simply copy the identifier from the genealogies search and search using the identifier in Family Tree it will take you to the corresponding record in Family Tree. This is very useful.
As an example I did a search in  Ancestral file for for James Brown with a spouse Polly Williams - there are several entries. I just used the first one I found James Brown birth 1753 / 1758 and death 27 March 1832. His spouse is Mary or Polly Williams. The ID number for James is 9S95-R82 if we use that ID number in Family Tree we are lead to James Brown 1757-1823 • 9X1D-F37 in Family Tree. So the ancestral file record has been associated with this Family Tree record. It was probably done in nFS and may be a combination of several people. Now lets look at his spouse in Ancestral file -- Mary_or_Polly Williams Birth 1760 Rowan,,North Carolina and death 1827 Rowan,,North Carolina. The ID for this record in ancestral file is 9S95-RDW. If we use that ID to search in Family Tree it takes us to a deleted record. --- Mary "Polly" Williams 1764 – 1827 • LZLG-MF9
I know nothing about these people but it does tell us what happened to a specific record from Ancestral File. Hopefully it will provide a beginning point to uncover the records for the specific James Brown and Polly Williams searced for. I should mention there are additional Ancestral file records which appear to be for the same people that could be followed in the same manner as above.<br>
PRF and FT do not talk back and forth that is correct. But you can find the records in Family tree associated with the early PRF records. Those records were one of the starting points for creating new FamilySearch.&nbsp;
