The miscellaneous records include some American Loyalist regiment muster rolls from 1777 to 1783 and muster rolls of some Canadian militia units for the War of 1812 and the Rebellions of 1837 to 1838. Muster rolls may show each soldier’s name, regiment, and the dates and places he served. The index includes about 500,000 entries to subjects as well as to military members’ names.
