I think you're right in the future a page about each deanery listing the parishes that form it would be useful for other researchers. I think the other issue to consider is boundary changes as Heveningham is now part of the Deanery of Halesworth, Archdeaconry of Suffolk, Diocese of St Edmundsbury & Ipswich. +I can see you were trying to amend how the template creates the Poor Law Union links. If you are able to put in words what you would like to achieve, I may be able to help.
+Currently when the template is used a parameter named <tt>Poor Law Union</tt> can be defined. See for example [[Abbotsbury, Dorset]] which was part of the Weymouth PLU. The parameter is defined as <tt>Poor Law Union = Weymouth</tt> and this creates a link to the page [[Weymouth Poor Law Union, Dorset]] using the link text <tt>Weymouth PLU</tt>.
