Hatch's Independent Battalion, Minnesota Cavalry was organized at Fort Snelling and St. Paul, in Companies as follows:<br>Companies "A," "B," "C," "D" July 25 to September, 1863. <br>Company "E" mustered August 31, 1864. <br>Company "F" mustered September 1, 1864.<br>This regiment mustered out from April 26 to June 22, 1866<ref>National Park Service, [http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ The Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System] (accessed 11 January 2011)</ref>.
