This little known fragment of the family history of Wales' 'Colony', Patagonia in South America originally appeared in 'Baner ac Amserau, Cymru. on 15th Sept. 1875, and is a record of births, marriages and deaths, in the first ten years of the area's history. Jones, Mrs. D. Elwern, and Wynne-Woodhouse, Bill. The Descendant of a Bible Translator in the Workhouse. A recent article in Hel Achau on Thomas Edwards, Twm o'r Nant, mentioned that his daughter Elizabeth, married the Rev. Arthur Jones. Jones was a descendant of Bishop William Morgan who translated the Bible. Jones, and Wynne-Woodhouse have drawn up a pedigree from a number of old printed sources: starting with Thomas Salesbury marrying Elizabeth, M. Jenkyn Don in 1451. Surnames on the chart are Jones, Swinford, Wilson, Oldham, Bentham, Hughes, Morgan, Evans, Williams, Griffith and Roberts. Covers from 1451-1906. One of the descendants lands up in the Chester Workhouse in England, and marries Elizabeth Cunninghame in Jan. 1900. Article in Journal "Hel Achau' #20 christmas 1986, page 5-6.
