The population as of the year 2000 was 466,194 (est.). Indigenous Melanesians comprises 93% of the population; while there are Polynesians, Micronesians, and small groups of Europeans and Chinese. In 2000, religious persuasion was 95% Christian of which 29% were Anglican, 19% Roman Catholic, 17% South Seas Evangelical; 11% Methodist; 10% Seventh-day Adventist, and 14% other religions.[1]
