The current institution was established at the end of 1927, with the suppression of the municipalities of Oriano, Cremezzano, and Scarpizzolo, and their incorporation into Pedergnaga. The municipality's name changed to Pedergnaga Oriano and then to San Paolo in 1963. The parishes were established in 1965.
