The area was inhabited during Roman times, as evidenced by the Via Mediolanum-Brixia passing through its territory. The name "Runca" for the territory appears in 756.
Jurisdictions:
- 756: The territory, then called Runca, was inherited by the Lombard King Desiderius.
- 760: Desiderius donated Runca to the monastery of San Salvatore.
- 1385: Roncadelle, previously part of the quadra of Rovato, came under the jurisdiction of Brescia.
- The Porcellaga family gained control, building a castle.
- 1659: The Martinengo Colleoni family gained control through marriage.
- 1800: Roncadelle gained administrative autonomy.
Major events:
- The Porcellaga family was involved in violence and crime in the 16th and 17th centuries, leading to the intervention of the Republic of Venice.
- The castle was transformed into a residential palace.
- The Brescia-Soncino tram line was established.
