The town of Rezzato was established on March 12, 1299. However, the oldest artifacts found in the area date back to the Neolithic period.

Jurisdictions:

  • Middle Ages: Depended religiously and civilly on the monastery of Sant'Eufemia.
  • 1429: Under the dominion of the Republic of Venice.
  • Later: Under the temporary dominion of the Visconti.
  • 18th century: Under the Napoleonic Empire, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
  • 1859 to 1926: Part of the district of Brescia.

Major events:

  • Summer of 1399: A Marian apparition in Valverde.
  • March 22, 1848: The "fact of Rezzato," where volunteers and locals captured Austrian soldiers.
  • Second Italian War of Independence: Scene of the Battle of Treponti.
  • World War II: Suffered 43 Allied air raids.[1]
